The RidePod™ BT collects axle data from dedicated and on-road bike lanes using two thin-walled pneumatic tubes. This data is analysed by our MTE™ software running the axle information through optimised algorithms, to identify bike clusters and distinguish between bikes, pedestrians and scooters to present detailed bike volume, speed and directional information.
Individual Cyclists in Bike Clusters
The MTE™ software features updated analytics for studying bicycle trips. With cyclists often travelling in clusters, MTE™ can now effectively distinguish individual bikes in a group, while identifying the cluster patterns.
Analyse Speed and Direction
This system allows for detailed analysis of speed and headway of cyclists, helping to identify potential hazards. With access to detailed axle data, MTE™ accurately determines the direction of travel, regardless of lateral position on the path.
Filtering volumes by speed and direction provides a visualisation of conditions during peak cycling periods highlighting commuter and recreational traffic.
Record Individual Bikes
Based on MetroCount’s time-stamping technology, the RidePod BP records every bike axle that passes over the sensors, reporting speed, direction, length and gap between bikes.
