La differenza principale del Road Pod VT4 è la capacità di monitorare una corsia centrale, o una corsia che non può essere raggiunta con un singolo contatore RoadPod VT senza che i sensori attraversino un'altra corsia. Il RoadPod VT4 rappresenta una metodologia molto più accurata (e semplice) rispetto al vecchio metodo di "sottrarre i dati della Corsia 1 dai dati combinati delle Corsie 1 e 2" o ai metodi di incrocio dei tubi.

Two different statistical tests (Wilcoxon Rank Sum Test and T-Test) were performed to statistically demonstrate reasonable reliability of the traffic counting tubes data. Both statistical tests revealed there is no significant difference, at the 95% confidence level, between the actual traffic volumes and volumes obtained from the traffic counting tubes.
