The trip kicked off at the 2WALK&CYCLE Conference in Wellington, where the team took the opportunity to showcase the new RidePod® QR powered by ATLYST® as well as the enhanced RidePod BT and RidePod BP for bicycle and pedestrian counting. These products show our commitment to state-of-the-art active transport data solutions.

From there, it was off to Palmerston North to visit existing sites and meet with local contractors and clients such as Roading Logistics. This was just the start of a busy schedule that saw the MetroCount team crisscrossing both the North and South Islands, holding meetings with transport officials, contractors, and industry partners in cities like Wellington, Auckland, and Timaru.

A clear highlight was the overwhelming interest in the RoadPod VM from attendees. This device directly replaces embedded loop sensors while avoiding any need to cut into the road surface. "The RoadPod essentially sticks onto the existing road with a heat application process," explained Dale Luelf, Sales Manager. "This eliminates future erosion issues and immensely reduces costs by avoiding the extra time, labour and traffic controls required for cutting into the road."

Beyond showcasing our latest product lineup, the tour allowed us to connect face-to-face with clients and get direct feedback that will shape future innovation. We also got to explore the beautiful landscape in New Zealand during our visit.

"It was invaluable to meet with our partners and hear firsthand about their needs," said Dale Luelf. "Those insights will be critical as we continue developing solutions for the New Zealand market and beyond."
